“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
— Isaiah 41:10
Fear is a natural reaction we experience when faced with danger. But if we don’t deal with it the right way, it can become paralyzing. The Bible says that perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18). Jesus also taught that we shouldn’t fear those who can harm the body, but instead fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Matthew 10:28).
There are many frightening things in life, but nothing should rob us of the peace and true security that God gives us. Faith brings certainty and conviction of the Lord’s presence. More than simply knowing or feeling, trusting in the Lord is what helps us overcome fear.
Do Not Fear — The Lord Is With You
When facing fear, we usually have three options: stop, run, or confront it. Stop suffering! God gives you strength to face and overcome every fear.
Pray! Cast all your anxiety and fear on the Lord. He never abandons those who trust in Him.
Walking with Jesus gives us courage. That doesn’t mean we’ll never feel afraid, but that we trust fully in the Lord.
Believing is a decision we must renew daily. Read the Bible and nourish your heart with faith, love, and hope each day.
God encourages us as His children not to fear any danger, because He Himself will protect us.
A Prayer to Pray:
Lord God, You know my heart and all my fears. Forgive my lack of faith, and help me to trust that Your presence sustains me every day of my life. Give me strength and boldness to overcome fear and to grow in courage through Your great power. I trust in You and in Your Word. By faith, I will not be afraid. Amen.
